This book provided tremendous help in navigating the college recruiting process. This is a must read for the parent of student athlete and/or the student athlete hoping to play sports in college. The book provides an easy to understand method to take control of your college athletic future.
I've come to realize what a complex, and expensive monster the recruiting process can be. This book gives real-world advice, in a manner that is easy to understand, on how to wrangle in the recruiting process and make each step productive. I no longer feel completely in the dark about trying to find the right fit for my son. From definitions of words commonly used among coaches to the different phases of recruiting, this book gave me the tools to handle this process in an organized, constructive manner. This is a must read for every high school athlete and their parents.
After having the opportunity to read the advanced copy of "College Recruiting Hacked," I realized how much I needed this book when I was going through my recruiting process. I was one of the thousands that were scammed by the big name recruiting services who promised connections to college coaches for the "small" price of $3,000+. Playing college basketball was a dream I didn't get the chance to live out, in part, because I didn't understand the recruiting process.

"College Recruiting Hacked" is not only informational, but also conversational and easy-to-read. It lays out the recruiting process in terms that anyone can understand. After reading this book, I realized how simple the recruiting process can actually be if you know what you're doing. "College Recruiting Hacked" offers a step-by-step plan to taking charge of your recruiting experience.

"College Recruiting Hacked" is a must-read for any aspiring college athlete. It will save you time, money, and energy...trust me, I've been on the other side of wasted time, money, and energy. This book will help you get to where you want to be.
Hacked is one of those books that will t-bone you when you read it. By that, I mean it will catch you off-guard, right in the side of your noggin while you were distracted by some other some such.

See, in the interest of full disclosure, I ran through the book on one of Mr. Bastie's final edits. I didn't do much, because frankly, the book was already well-edited, well-formatted, and wonderfully written. I spent a lot of my time just ~reading~ the book. I made notes, sure, and some suggestions, but for the most part, I simply sat back and enjoyed the fact that the book is chock full of useful, practical information, without all the fluff.

Bastie leaves out the long lectures you might find in other books. He gets to the point, and isn't that the point? I flew through the book and kept thinking I want my kids to read this book.

Even though I don't have college athletes, I have an ambitious son, who as a freshman is showing signs of becoming a sought-after percussionist. My daughter, a sophomore, is already selling her artwork at school. My toddler throws random objects and picks his nose with both hands, so maybe there's hope for him, but none of these are "athletes." Even so, the process outlined in Hacked is the same for anyone seeking to become successful -- work hard, be consistent, persist and maintain a realistic scope of your achievements.

Over and over I nodded my head. Over and over I wished I had read this book as a high-schooler. It simply took every good piece of advice I ever received and lodged it within a series of well-written and tightly crafted pages.

Forget the title. Forget the fact that this is aimed at college athletes, or even college-aged kids at all. This book will help anyone looking to succeed in anything they hope to accomplish. It is for all ages and disciplines, and I hope it will help many more readers to become more focused individuals.
